Update on Operation School Bell®

February 2016

Through January 2016, 1200 students have been clothed, which is ahead of two years ago. We continue to make a difference in many young people’s lives. A number of generous donations have been received recently. Reva Bartlett, a member of our Advisory Council donated toothpaste. A McKinney teacher brought by various clothing items which we were able to use, and several members saw items which were out of stock, and provided them. We commend all for these thoughtful gifts. We would also like to thank Erin Chesal, for her expertise in streamlining several of the Operation School Bell reports which must be completed. She saved us many frustrating hours.

It’s time to put a new team in place for next year, and Rita Hanna and Rosalie Watkins have agreed to serve as Operation School Bell Chairmen. Members exemplify our motto “Caring and Commitment in Action.” Pictured are the new Co-chairmen, Rita Hanna and Rosalie Watkins; members working to fill school bags; our Referral Team members Gail Duff-Bloom, and Maggie Winslow, plus an example of the supply of clothing necessary to make the program successful. Showing the clothing donated to the children are Al and Alice, the chapter’s models.
