Volunteers transforming lives through community programs since 1998
Assistance League of Greater Collin County continues to be a vital link to seniors participating in the Meals on Wheels program. In the past three years, the chapter has provided Valentine’s Day baskets and Christmas bags to Meals on Wheels and last month, the group of volunteers in the Caring in Action Committee worked hard to make Shower Baskets. Members assembled 50 baskets that were filled with personal hygiene items and delivered them to Amanda Ramirez, Community Resource Coordinator and Executive Assistant for Meals on Wheels Collin County. This is the second year the Assistance League has provided the shower baskets to Meals on Wheels. What a wonderful way to start the year—giving to those in need.
A steady presence in Collin County since 1998, Assistance League of Greater Collin County puts caring and commitment into action. Members develop, fund and participate in programs that provide new school clothing for hundreds of children in need, provide activities for senior citizens, donate and distribute reading materials to patients and families at local hospitals, and support grieving parents. The chapter also addresses short term needs in the community.
